With the rapid economic development, people's requirements for the flame retardant properties of textiles are getting higher and higher. The current flame retardant performance testing methods are basically designed for fabrics, which requires the sample to undergo the transformation process from yarn to fabric, which makes the time period for judging the flame retardant performance of textiles longer. On this basis, the correlation between the flame retardant properties of yarns and fabrics is explored. It is expected to estimate the flame retardant properties of fabrics by testing the flame retardant properties of yarns, so as to quickly judge the flame retardant properties of textiles. Purpose. The main research contents are as follows:(1) The testing method of the flame retardant properties of the yarn is studied, the testing device is designed and modified, and the relevant testing parameters are analyzed. (2) Single-factor and orthogonal tests were carried out on aramid, flame-retardant acrylic, and flame-retardant polyester yarns by the inclined combustion method, and the number of yarn samples, yarn fineness, and clamping width were analyzed for the flame performance impact. (3) Fabrics of different specifications were woven with aramid sulfone, flame-retardant acrylic and flame-retardant polyester yarns, and their flame-retardant properties were tested to compare the correlation between the flame-retardant properties of yarns and fabrics. Image processing technology to solve the numerical method of fabric damaged area. (4) The relationship between the flame retardant properties of yarns and fabrics and their respective square metre weights was analyzed, and on this basis, the correlation between the flame retardant properties of yarns and fabrics was studied.
